Check.
It’s true folks, we’ve completed the application. I called my friends, who adopted through foster care, to ask them to be our personal reference – they were thrilled and honored. We just need to get copies of our birth certificates and marriage license and a photo of ourselves and the application will be totally complete. Holy shit. We’re really doing this. We talked more about ttc while pursuing adoption – we’re not really sure if I’ll keep trying, and I have to say I am really enjoying this break! Part of me is ready to give up the whole pregnancy game and A. is feeling like after being my co-pilot, she may not want to try. I am okay with that. I really am. I am sick of ttc and adoption may be the best thing for us. Stay tuned…

Good for you! I know it isn’t an easy decision, and while you’re taking your classes, you may question all of it. But, it will be worth it!! Congratulations on taking this step!
As for how A may feel, if she’s anything like me, she’ll be glad to be on “equal footing” with you on all of this. With T, I felt like all of the burden was on her, and not on me for TTC. For the foster/adoption, we both feel like we’re “even”. I don’t know if that quite explains it, but I’m sure A will know what I mean.

Wow! Almost complete. That’s amazing.
I can totally understand if you are experiencing TTC burnout and are enjoying the break.
Not to mention, as our friends who chose adoption instead of TTC as their route pointed out to us, in the case of adoption (especially if you’re adopting foster children whose bio parents have already had their rights terminated), it’s not a matter of “if,” it’s a matter of “when.” With TTC, it’s always “if.” That alone is a powerful idea.
Good luck to you guys in exploring different options and in whichever route(s) you decide to consider. You guys are dynamos, nearly finishing an adoption application while you’re still sick and all.
